Choosing Your Online Store Niche

It’s not difficult to determine what type of niche will work best for your online store. I derive my ideas from things we see around us every day. A good place to start is Google.

First, I briefly look through the Google trends, located at www.google.com/trends.

Second, I go to the Google Products section, www.google.com/products. There you can view the most recent products that consumers have purchased. Each time you refresh the page, the product list will change. If you spend some time here, you will gain a sense of the most popular types of products.

I also pay close attention to television, especially news and commercials. I sometimes leave the TV on in the background, my antennae quivering to attention only when necessary to determine which new product is being advertised or discussed on a news broadcast. It helps me to determine overall trends, especially consumer habits.
